Christian De Splenter
Photographe

Christian De Splenter is a Belgian diver and underwater photographer who started diving in 1976. Approximately 10 years ago, he first started out in underwater photography, in a self-instructed way. Since then, he never ceased traveling and rapidly evolving in his passion for submarine imaging.

ln 1999, at the International Festival for Underwater Images in Antibes, he was rewarded the "Plongeur d'Or" (gold) for his first realisation "Coralis", presented in the category slide-shows.The following year, his talent and imagination were confirmed when he won the "Plongeur d'Argent" (silver) for the very touching "Legend of the Sea". Only a few weeks ago, he was granted the gold medal at the Strasbourg International Festival for his latest, surprisingly renewing "What a Wonderful World".

Ever since, his images and realisations are most wanted on a European scale. The French Aquarium "Nausicaa" in Boulogne-sur-Mer regularly shows his work through expositions, slide shows or publications.

From the Great White Shark in South Australia to the nautilus in the North Pacific, passing by the flora and fauna of the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea and so much more... ail his travels come to life in his impressive slide collection, of which we invite you to discover a sample today, in the following slide-shows.
